12/2: Sir Eustace Grey & The Library
Thanks to everyone who came out to Emma on Friday! We had a really good time. Sadly, we'll be deferring our regularly scheduled meetings one week as well in light of our delayed Emma discussion. So instead of meeting this week, we'll meet the week after Thanksgiving break to talk about George Crabbe's Sir Eustace Grey and The Library. Hope to see you all there!

Dinner with Austen Delayed; or , a Party of Pleasure Deferred
Those interested in dinner and Drinks with Austen night tomorrow might be sorely displeased upon learning that we have failed in our earnest endeavours to procure a table for the event. Apparently some tomfoolery is happening in our humble town tomorrow eve that prevents our convening--every restaurant and eatery of note is simply booked up.
As such, we will have to change course as it were from what we've traditionally done with these dinner series. We are moving the meeting to next Friday. Please let us know if you still intend to attend for Nov 13th at 7pm, by tomorrow at 5 pm so we can make reservations a week in advance to avoid a similar problem.
You can contact raseiler@indiana.edu or our Facebook page to update and confirm your RSVP.
Our apologies for this annoying inconvenience.
Yours etc.,
Rachel, Tracey, and Kate

Emma @ Uptown this Friday, Nov 6, 7pm
Just a quick reminder for anyone interested in Jane Austen to join us for our annual drinks and discussion evening. On Friday, November 6th, we will meet at Uptown Cafe at 7 p.m. to discuss Austen’s Emma and relevant criticism. Official discussion starts at 7:30. Discussion will run one hour long, but Drinks with Austen may well continue into the weekend!
If you’re interested in joining us, please RSVP to raseiler@indiana.edu OR on our Facebook page (operated by Tracey Hutchings-Goetz) by Wednesday, November 4th so that we can report a proper number to the restaurant. Faculty are also welcome and encouraged to attend the event, so feel free to pass the news along.
